Woah! Somehow Thanksgiving flew by, Black Friday was a complete blur, it’s almost December and there’s Christmas music playing everywhere. One thing I’m slowing down for though is all of the amazing sales going on right now! There are great deals everywhere, which almost makes it more overwhelming to figure out where to start or what to focus on. I’ve narrowed down the best sales to share on GMG by going through some of my favorite posts from the past months, highlighting pieces that have gone on sale or similar items and brands that have amazing deals going on!

One of my very favorite designers is Red Valentino. I own a couple dresses with the last one being worn in this GMG post from Paris. Lucky for you, this same Red Valentino is now on sale here and here in red, just in time for the holiday season! You may also want to add this, this, this, this, this, and this other Red Valentino dress to your list – I know I am!

My Alice + Olivia embroidered tweed dress (also available here and here) and jacket (also available here) worn in this Gal Meets Glam Post are now on sale up to 50% off. I wore them with my Charlotte Olympia Kitty flats which are now on sale in this color, this color, this color and this color

This soft pink coat worn here on Gal Meets Glam is now on sale (with code: GOBIG15) here and here in great pastel colors. For the complete look, add this striped tee, these or these black jeans, and these or these OTK suede boots, all at fantastic savings!

gmg-black-friday5-

Jewelry makes a perfect gift and Bauble Bar x Gal Meets Glam pieces, originally shown on GMG here are specially priced for a limited time at 30% off with code: THX! These and these drop earrings can be dressed up or down for any holiday party. Pair a simple sweater with this, this, or this statement necklace to create a new look. And throw on these bracelets or these dainty earring to add a bit of glam to any style! Oh, and don’t forget to keep your new pieces safe in this striped jewelry box, or hanging on this Geo Metal Storage Basket or this T-Bar Jewelry Stand!

gmg-black-friday4-
gmg-black-friday8-

A Leopard Coat is one of this season’s statement pieces, seen here on Gal Meets Glam. This, this, this, this, this or this one would be the perfect addition to any wardrobe (and all on sale!), but this one is almost identical & currently 30% off with code: 5BLACKFRIDAY Add these, these, these or these edgy biker boots for a great travel look.

I love to throw on a pair of Hunter boots for a more relaxed style, whether I’m walking through vineyards, as in this Gal Meets Glam post, hiking through mud or running around the city on a rainy day. Grab yourself a pair like these or these while they’re on sale. And while you’re at it, add a pair of Hunter socks – this, this, and this style are my favorite, and also on sale!

gmg-black-friday1-

Polka dots have always been a favorite print of mine, like this Carolina Herrera dress I wore here, and they’re having a major moment right now. Wearing polka dots feels fun, and on a dress it adds a festive spirit, perfect for the holidays! I found this, this, this, this and this polka dot party dress currently on sale only until Monday!

gmg-black-friday6-
gmg-black-friday7-

I’ve been wearing both my Ray Ban aviators and club master sunglasses for years. They’re a great staple to complete any look! You can see how I wore a favorite pair here on GMG this past summer, and will be taking them with me to Hawaii this Christmas (along with almost every other travel destination). Find your favorite style on sale here, here, and here.

A Burberry trench coat, like the worn in this Gal Meets Glam post, is an investment piece that will last for years to come. This is your chance to find one on sale here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.

If you’re still searching for a few more sales going on this weekend, I suggest checking out J.Crew’s amazing 40% off, Shopbop’s 25% off, Banana Republic’s 40% off everything, Madewell’s 25% off your entire purchase, Old Navy’s 40% off everything, Net-A-Porter’s up to 50% off and ASOS’s 20% off everything!

Lo & Sons Bag c/o, J.Crew Coat, J.Crew Turtleneck, Paige Jeans, Acne Boots, BaubleBar Studs

There are many perks of working from home but at the same time, there are some downsides to it as well. With a large workflow always on my plate, keeping motivated isn’t really an issue for me (plus I love what I do!), but it’s more about the feeling of a community and being around other people. I love being around other people, I feed off the energy! When Thomas joined Gal Meets Glam full time last October, I was so excited to finally have someone to bounce all of my ideas off of. We could finally start working on projects we’d both been dreaming of. It was great! But we both still get in that funk sometimes and just need to get out of the house.

T and I got in the habit of switching from the office to a coffee shop whenever we feel like we need a little breather. Whether the internet is down, there is loud construction outside or we just need to be in a new space to get inspiration, we have a few places around the city that we love. Ashley’s Cafe in the Inner Richmond is always a quiet spot that has great chai lattes and good food. A few other places we love are The Mill (but only good for brainstorming & toast- there is no wifi), Jane on Fillmore, Coffee Bar, Le Marais in the Marina and Sightglass Coffee in Soma.

I’ve been a fan of Lo & Sons bags for a long time. I have the OG (my first bag), the Catalina (seen last in this post, it’s a great weekender!) and my newest one, the Seville Laptop Bag. Just like its sister bags, this one is particularly amazing for the quality and storage. It has a specific place for my laptop (unlike other totes I have) and lots of compartments for little things like keys, wallet, phone, pens, notebooks and other randoms I throw in last minute. Plus, it fits bigger laptops up to 15″.

One of my favorite features of the Seville bag is that you can switch the outer shell. I initially picked out the classic black but also got the red, which I’ve ended up using more. The inner bag easily unsnaps and allows you to switch to either red, navy or black. Lo & Sons are always so creative with the details of their bags, which is why I’ve been such a loyal customer! I’ve recommended them to almost all of my family and friends.

I gotta say that the red is probably my favorite color. I’ve been wearing so many neutrals this season and lots of monochromatic looks, so a pop of color is always nice. It’s a great contrast against my cream combination (these two J.Crew pieces- coat & sweater- are on constant repeat) and black accessories. But if you’re more of a neutral lover, the navy or black would be perfect!

You can see my last post with Lo & Sons here– my packing guide for Wine Country! Thank you to Lo & Sons for sponsoring this post.

Express EDITION Jacket, Silk Top, Leather Pants, Louboutin Pumps, Sophie Hulme Bag

I rarely wear all black, so when I do, it still has to have something that pops or makes the outfit have character. Last week, as we were running around trying to finish up work and get ready for our guests, I slipped into this all-black look more out of ease than anything else. But after it was on, I realized it was probably my favorite colorless outfit yet. The combination of textures and fabrics- silk, leather and a bit of sparkle- all made the look feel much more than just basic black.

Today I’m super excited to feature EDITION, the new high-end luxury collection by Express that just launched today! This military inspired jacket is my absolute favorite piece from this look. With its emphasis on luxury fabrics and an updated classic look it’s a great collection to shop for the holidays. I can imagine adding this jacket to a silky dress or pair with wide leg trousers for holiday parties.

A great pair of leather pants will always be chic and timeless. They’re sexy but understated- even when paired with a chunky oversized sweater. This pair from the EDITION collection fits me absolutely perfectly, which doesn’t always happen.

The last piece that completed the look was this gorgeous silk blouse that would dance in the wind as I walked. It flowed beautifully under my jacket with a bit of black lace peeking out from my bra under the sheer fabric.

Fall in Napa Valley

Outfit Details:

Tory Burch Coat (also love this one), Club Monaco Dress c/o, Chanels Flats, Lanvin Bag c/o

We’ve spent the past week with our friends visiting from London and of course had to take them out to Napa for a few days. Thomas and I have been out to Napa Valley during all times of the year and this was by far the most beautiful I’ve seen it yet! The trees were striking shades of orange, red, yellow and green and the vineyards glowed at sunset. We enjoyed the coolness of the winter weather with the warmth from the afternoon sun on our faces. Armed with a bag full of coats and layers, we were ready to take on the grueling weekend of wine tasting.

I was glad I packed a few extra pairs of black tights to wear with all of the dresses I brought with me. Even though I would have preferred to be bare-legged, this white dress from Club Monaco looked just as nice with my black stockings & black flats. The dress also comes in black, which would make the perfect LBD for the holiday season.

I love crisp white in the winter time, it’s so refreshing compared to all of the dark colors. I also have this white lace top and this white crepe top that I’ll slip on with jeans, a leather skirt or black trousers. If you’re looking for other white dresses this season, I also love this one, this one and this one from Club Monaco.

We had to stop and shoot in downtown St. Helena where the trees were in full autumnal mode. One would think that it was only the beginning of October instead of December, if judging by the landscape. It made for a very scenic trip and beautiful background for photos.

I love dresses like this white one from Club Monaco because I’ll wear it now in the winter, but also pull it out again with nude pumps in the springtime. To make it more festive this season, I’ll add a pair of statement earrings or red pumps and lipstick to make it pop. If you’re looking for other holiday outfits for Christmas or NYE, this black feather dress or this feather skirt with this silk top are two of my favorite party looks.

Outfit Details:

Max Mara Coat (old, similar here and here), Chicwish Dress c/o, Hue Tights, Chanel Flats (similar here), Lanvin Bag c/o

On our last morning out in Napa Valley, we woke up, headed to breakfast and then to the croquet lawn at our hotel, Meadowood. We had our English friends give us the run through but neither of us had the attention span for a full game that early in the morning. Instead, we headed to Model Bakery in downtown St. Helena for some coffee and english muffins (more up my alley!).

I couldn’t resist pulling out another dress on our trip. When the weather gets cooler, that just means I have to start getting more creative with ways of keeping warm while still wearing dresses. Luckily for now, my tights, coat and alpaca scarf are enough to layer up but I’ll also add a turtleneck underneath if necessary. This Max Mara coat was one of my favorite purchases last winter (last seen here, here and here) and I found a very similar version this season here.

This floral Chicwish dress falls right into my category of “perfect dresses”. They’re the ones that are effortless enough to throw on and go, always fit just right and need minimal accessories. I also love this little green dress from Chicwish to pair with tights or a pair of sparkly pumps for the holidays.

If you’re like me and have a serious love for dresses, even in the winter, I suggest stocking up on a few great pairs of tights to pair with boots, flats or pumps. These quilted black flats are a beautiful and more affordable ($88!) option to my Chanel pair and I’ll also wear these booties or my favorite black heels.

CH Carolina Herrera Coat, Self Portrait Dress c/o Luisaviaroma, Ferragamo Flats, Fendi Bag

I mentioned my love for Self Portrait in this post wearing this dress and have since added this dress from their new collection. I can always tell a dress is Self Portrait by the intricate lace and cutout details, with this dress being no exception. The new collection is filled with beauties like this maxi dress, this tiered skirt, this crochet top and this organza dress.

I brought out my camel accessories to make the spring dress feel more seasonally appropriate that included my Ferragamo flats (last seen here), CH Carolina Herrera Coat (last seen here) and Fendi bag (last seen here). It’s my go-to neutral color year round and never fails to make an outfit look cohesive and chic. A camel coat will be your favorite purchase this winter if you don’t have one already!

I love the nautical vibe from this dress and would love to wear it with red flats and red lipstick. If the dress doesn’t suit you, can get this top that’s basically just the top half of the dress I’m wearing. The things I love most about a lace piece is that it feels appropriate for any season- spring, summer, fall or winter. It’s such a versatile fabric that always oozes femininity and adds a delicate touch to even the most masculine or edgy looks.

If we were heading somewhere a little less tropical for Christmas, I would definitely get this dress, this dress or this one to celebrate the holiday season. But, there is always NYE and this stunner would be perfect to ring in the new year. You can also head on over here to see more gorgeous Self Portrait dresses.

On Julia- Express Blazer, Turtleneck & Pants, Louboutin Pumps

On Thomas- Express Shirt, Sweater, Pants & Coat

Tis the season of holiday parties! Almost every week we have at least one on our calendar, so I think it’s safe to say that we’ve got some of the planning down on what to wear. I never want to be too dressy or too casual, so I usually like to find a middle ground. I do this by combining a fancier piece with a more laid back item. For guys, it’s a little easier and Thomas always seems to get it just right every time.

The getting ready process for a holiday party at home usually involves a bottle of champagne and festive playlist. Even if we’re just having a small get together at our place, it really does make a difference to boost your mood with some music before the guests arrive. Thomas and I love Jazz music, the right playlist can calm you down or pick you up or just be the best background music for a night full of conversation. We have a few Spotify playlists that we recommend for those unfamiliar with Jazz. “Jazz Classics” and “Coffee Table Jazz” are great but of course you can listen to “This Is: Frank Sinatra” too. During Christmas time (aka Black Friday to December 25th) we love to get in the spirit of the holidays through some Christmas tunes, our favorite is Michael Buble’s Christmas CD.

Thomas’s go-to for almost every occasion is a crisp white shirt. It’s always clean and a great base for layering this time of year. Here, he’s paired it with a burgundy sweater from Express, navy trousers and grey overcoat to pull the look together.

I couldn’t resist these sequin pants from Express. They’re definitely a statement piece but it’s the holidays, so that’s allowed! To offset their boldness, I’ve paired them with a simple black turtleneck and chic white blazer. I kept my accessories to a minimum with a gold watch, black pumps and a swipe of red lipstick.

A classic black pair of pumps will get you through the whole holiday season. Express has this leather pair that are under $70 but I love this leopard pair or these sleek sandals in red.

After the last minute finishes, we wrap up a hostess gift and head off! T and I love to get creative with our gift. Another bottle of wine is fun, but chances are the host has plenty of wine for the party. It’s important to have a good read on the host, to know what surprise gift they will love. Gifts we’ve given in the past are: Cards Against Humanity, Candles (you can never have too many) and Tickets to a Show or an invitation to return the favor in the future.

If you’re the host, there are a few things not to forget to make sure your party goes off effortlessly. Start dinner 30 minutes earlier than you think you should, especially if trying a new recipe. A dinner party, might not be the best time for experimenting with that Chocolate Souffle recipe you’ve always wanted to try out. Having some sort of appetizer that takes little to no work on your end (cheese plate) is great for keeping people entertained and curbing appetites. Make sure to serve the appetizer in a room outside of the kitchen and have your co-host keep them entertained. Have some plans for what to do after dinner, moving the dessert course to another room is a great idea for moving the night into a less formal direction. No need to plan out a schedule of events and email it to your party guests ahead of time, as long as you have a solid idea of how the night will go and your co-hosts are on the same page you can guide the evening’s setting however you’d like. Now that we finally have our home decor pretty much wrapped up, we are able to host dinners and parties so these are just some of the hosting tips and tricks we stick to.

If you’re looking for a few other ideas of what to wear to holiday parties this season, try this fringe back dress, this maxi one, this feather skirt or this metallic one!

R+Co Odyssey Essentials Set– No sample sizes here! Full-sized products to keep my hair on track for the holidays and beyond, plus the packaging is the cutest I’ve ever seen. The Sea Salt Spray is a must for added volume and up-do control. Though my hair is already thick, a deep thickening treatment will help keep it that way. I normally try to air dry my hair, but the winter weather doesn’t always make this possible. The Blowout Balm will help protect my straight hair from breakage due to over-drying. And I can’t wait to try the Dry Shampoo on days when I roll out of bed and realize that I didn’t wash my hair the night before – and need to!

gmg-bbb-3191

Cartier Baiser Vole Set– A fragrance is such a personal experience, and this one, with it’s lily-based scent, is right up my alley. The scent is absolutely heavenly! I love how I can layer it with a matching lotion to keep the delicious fragrance alive all day.

Kerastase Travel Set– With all the traveling T and I do, finding a great hair-care kit that can travel with me is essential. Kerastase’s travel set includes shampoo, hair oil and mask – everything I need to keep my hair nourished, strong and shiny. I’ll slip these into my beauty travel bag so I don’t have to rely on hotel hair products.

Benefit LASHtastic Mascara Sampler– I love big eyelashes. I have been a huge fan of Benefit’s BADgal Lash Volumizing Mascara for a long time, and now with this trio sampler I can try Benefit’s other well-known mascaras – They’re Real Lengthening, and Roller Lash Super-Curling and Lifting. I plan on putting these sample sized necessities in my purse, workout bag, and travel kit.

Burberry Cape, Free People Sweater, Express Skirt, Stuart Weitzman Boots c/o, WLFK x Gigi New York Clutch, Maison Michel Hat

The Stuart Weitzman 5050 boots have quickly become my favorite and most worn OTK boots in my closet this season. I’ve previously worn them on Instagram here, here, here, here and here, but many more times than that in my everyday life. They’re the perfect boots to keep my legs warm so I can still wear dresses and skirts during the winter season (and paired with tights for an extra layer on cool days).

I’ve been wearing this tan colored monogrammed clutch from my friend Kat Tanita’s collection with Gigi New York with most of neutral outfits lately (also wore it with this outfit in Napa). I also love it paired with my Stuart Weitzman Lowland OTK boots worn in this post. It’s the perfect chic little clutch to go with everything.

I wore this top, skirt & boots in last week’s Closet Rewind email (are you signed up for my weekly email series? if not, you can sign up here!) and re-worn it again this past weekend with an added layer from my Burberry Cape from last year. I had previously worn this skirt in brown in this post and this sweater in this post from Peru and love the two combined together.

After hiking in the Marin Headlands early on this morning, we showered and got dressed to go downtown to the Ferry Building for a sweet treat and a few things for dinner at home. We skipped Blue Bottle since the line was too long and decided to get almond milk hot chocolate at Frog Hollow and donuts at Pepples Donuts (the best is Philz Coffee flavor!).

My sister and I are currently in NYC for a few days and I made sure to pack my 5050 boots. Although I do love my black suede, the navy, brown and black leather are also great options that would be versatile enough to mix with many looks.

Carrying on Holiday Traditions

Outfit Details:

Old Navy Sweater, Old Navy Cardigan, Old Navy Jeans c/o, J.Crew Socks

One of the things I love most about this time of year is reminiscing about favorite childhood memories and holiday traditions. My sister and I are lucky to have fond memories of baking and decorating our favorite holiday cookies, making gingerbread houses, and drinking hot cocoa with peppermint sticks while opening gifts Christmas morning every year. She’s been in town visiting us for a few days, so we decided to bring back some of those past times. The rain and gloomy weather outside really set the mood for a day indoors. We wore comfy sweaters, leggings and socks all day, and made a cozy place by our Christmas tree to enjoy the treats we made. I layered this Old Navy sweater under this cardigan paired with these comfy white jeans– I just had to be extra careful with the frosting!

My sister and I were having brunch with my girlfriend on Sunday morning when we walked passed William Sonoma and saw the abundance of adorable baked goods and sweet treats. The three of us packed our basket full of sprinkles, marshmallows, cookie mix, candy canes, hot cocoa and the cutest little gingerbread men. We opted for the box of cookie mix and pre-made frosting since we were more excited about the decorating and eating part over the actually baking portion.

We baked up a storm of sugar and gingerbread cookies in all the festive shapes and sizes and made peppermint hot chocolate on the side. Thomas and I made the conscious effort to try and start some of our own traditions this year- whether that’s having Thanksgiving at our place, dinner parties on Sunday night or holiday cookie decorating with friends. Our families have created so many amazing traditions and it’s fun to be able to create our own.

By the end of the day we had eaten so many sweets that all we could do was snuggle on our pile of pillows and blankets and enjoy another favorite childhood memory – watching classic holiday movies! We turned on some of the greats like White Christmas, Miracle of 34th St, Elf and The Holiday.

Cooler winter weather means running the heater in our home more often, which has zapped the moisture right out of my hair, no matter how much conditioner I use. Coupled with the static that always seems to arrive with the season, I found my hair in desperate need of some TLC early last week. I’ve always taken good care of my hair, but every so often I need a boost to keep it shiny, bouncy and healthy.

(My hair before the treatment above) I scheduled a visit at the Joseph Cozza Salon here in San Francisco for a customized in-salon Kerastase Fusio Dose treatment, which I had read was amazing. When I arrived, my hair was feeling particularly dry and needy. A certified Kerastase stylist began my session by analyzing my specific hair and scalp profile using a Kerastase diagnostic camera that zoomed into my hair 600 times in order to create the perfect customized treatment for my own unique hair needs. My prescription for the treatment was a combination of the Concentre Oleo Fusion (for nutrition and nourishment) and the Booster Brilliance (for more radiance). The stylist blended the active ingredients into my personalized Fusio Dose treatment and applied it to my hair as a part of a shampoo and condition process. I was able to sit back, relax and enjoy the stylist massaging pure magic into my hair. An added bonus is that the service only takes 5 minutes.

I normally don’t blow dry my hair, or have it blown-out at the salon. However, I did as a part of my Kerastase experience. At the end of my session, my hair felt and looked amazing – soft as a feather and shinier and healthier looking, with added fullness and no more static! I was told that the treatment lasts for months to come. I can honestly say that this will become a part of my regular hair care ritual.  And I’m gifting my mom, who highlights her hair, and mother-in-law, who has very thick, curly hair, a treatment as well. I know they’ll love it!

I was honestly amazed by the results. You can pretty much see the difference in the before and after pictures above. I’ve never considered my hair to be really dry (it tends be very soft) or broken (it’s very thick- so it’s hard for me to tell) but I do wish it had more bounce and volume. Since my hair is very thick, heavy and straight, it can often fall really flat, especially since I let it air dry so often. When I had my treatment done, this was the area that we focused on. Afterward, my straight hair looked the best it has looked in a very long time- the ends were refreshed just like after a good hair cut (but no hair was lost here) and my hair was bouncy and full of body!

For your customized Kerastase Fusio Dose experience, you can find a salon in your area that offers the service. Thank you to Kerastase for sponsoring this post.

Christmas is fast approaching and for Thomas and me that means preparing for our tropical vacation to Maui. Yes, we are spending this Christmas in sandals and swimsuits soaking up some sun with Thomas’s family. And though I really love bundling up for the snow, I am definitely ready to just lounge around on a towel at the beach in my new blue bikini, reading a good book and drinking Mai Tais.

My packing list for this holiday getaway includes light and loose cotton blouses, simple dresses, and shorts, minimal makeup, and a light and airy fragrance reminiscent of our time spent in the Mediterranean this past summer.

Leave it to Dolce&Gabbana to create such a fragrance that captures the exact mood I am looking for – Light Blue. This fresh, floral, fruity scent with just a hint of musk, is the perfect match to my classic vacation style with a sleek, refined design that eludes to a relaxed yet sophisticated vibe. I couldn’t help but sneak in a quick mist while putting together my clothes for the trip. It left me daydreaming about blue skies, salty air, sun kissed skin, soft sand, and warm, romantic evenings with Thomas… while falling a bit behind on packing!

Cashmere Sweater

Outfit Details:

Elizabeth & James Blazer (last seen here), Charter Club Cashmere Turtleneck, Joe’s Jeans, Sam Edelman Boots, Givenchy Bag c/o Luisaviaroma (last seen here)

I did a big closet clean-out recently and it really got me thinking about the main basics I currently have and what pieces I would like to add. Often times, we get so excited about unique or statement pieces and we forget to invest in the ones that actually build up our wardrobes. For me, those are the classic items that never go out of style and are better quality so they’ll last well over time.

gmg-cashmere-8680
gmg-cashmere-8397

gmg-cashmere-8676

gmg-cashmere-8619
gmg-cashmere-8435

Splurging on a great cashmere sweater is always a good idea in my book. You’ll wear it year round and definitely get your money’s worth. I always make sure to buy one in a timeless color like camel, black, grey or cream. I recently picked up this camel cashmere turtleneck here that’s currently on sale for under $80 and comes in a few different styles- crew neck, v neck and cardigan.

gmg-cashmere-8511

gmg-cashmere-8379
gmg-cashmere-8643

Three other items I would list in my closet basic’s list are a blazer, distress jeans and flat booties. I last wore this cream Elizabeth & James blazer in this post over an lbd and slipped it over my cashmere sweater yesterday for a coffee run in the early morning. The Joe’s Jeans are also a favorite of mine as I love the unpolished touch they add to an over-polished outfit. These Sam Edelman booties (last seen in this post) have also been one of my favorite pairs of shoes, so much that I also have them in black.

gmg-cashmere-8478

gmg-cashmere-8392
gmg-cashmere-8521

You’ll never regret buying a classic item and the combinations it will always result in . You’ll be surprised how many looks you can create after investing in one great piece. I plan on wearing this turtleneck with the white skirt I wore in this post, with the black coated jeans from this post or the black skirt from this post paired with tights.

Outfit Details:

DVF Jumpsuit c/o, Joseph Coat, Louboutin Pumps, Chanel Clutch

Jumpsuits are my favorite alternative to dresses. Probably because they’re just as easy – a complete look in one simple piece. This red DVF jumpsuit I wore in this post was a favorite of mine this past summer and fall and even works well for the holiday season. It’s a chic option I always end up grabbing last minute when I don’t know what to wear to an event or dinner.

gmg_dvf-6786
gmg_dvf-6761

gmg_dvf-6857

While I do love a statement dress for the holiday season – sequins, patterned or bright- the probability of wearing it again and again after the holidays are over is unlikely. Like the LBD, a black jumpsuit has become a must-have in my closet. This black lace DVF jumpsuit is a classic option that will most likely become one of your favorite pieces to grab and go. Paired with my tallest black pumps, the all black ensemble elongates my legs and is both parts comfortable and stylish.

gmg_dvf-6762
gmg_dvf-6740

gmg_dvf-6728

I kept my look pretty simple with a nude lip shade, black clutch and coat. While I still consider this to be holiday appropriate I would recreate this same outfit for another occasion anytime of the year. My favorite outfits always end up being the most simple ones that aren’t overdone or too thought out.

A Very Merry Holiday Prep

This Christmas, with Thomas and I going out of town for the holiday, we decided to buy a fake Christmas tree. While it’s extremely low maintenance and looks great, we were missing one key thing, that Christmas tree scent that fills the house. So we decided to head out in search of a Christmas tree farm to experience the scent of the holiday season. We found the most adorable Christmas tree farm – Grandma Buddy’s Christmas Trees in Sebastopol, CA. The rustic charm of this vintage farmhouse, decorated with freshly cut evergreen garlands and swag adorned with red bows, made for a very picturesque setting. Thomas and I loved walking through the perfectly symmetrical trees with their sweet pine smell. We hunted for the perfect holiday wreath, and found it in a large mix of different evergreens, red berries, and frosted pine cones.

It was pouring rain when we hit the road in the morning and was sprinkling when we arrived to the tree farm, so we were the only people there aside from one determined family all bundled up in rain jackets and wellies. We were nervous that we had missed all the trees since many of the farms in the surrounding area closed early due to selling out too quickly. Luckily, we found this gem that had just what we were looking for. We wandered around the property before heading inside to warm up by the fire and sip some hot cocoa they had waiting for guests. Pretty ideal, right?

My red J.Crew toggle coat, plaid shirt, dark denim and boots fit-in with the country-styled holiday decor. Getting dressed up for the activity is always part of the fun! I actually had previously bought my mom this coat in a dark green shade and was happy to get one for myself. The red really pops amongst the evergreens and pine trees and a swipe of red lipstick is always my holiday go-to.

Maybe next year I can convince Thomas to get a real tree, but until then, we’ll stick to Christmas smelling candles and wreaths to set the mood in our place. We headed home with our beautiful new decor, muddy boots and pockets filled with candy canes.

gmg-jcrew-7354

gmg-jcrew-8363

Once home, I quickly changed in preparation for a little holiday get together with friends. I wanted to wear something colorful and fun, and opted for a casual white cotton turtleneck and classic fair isle sweater mixed with a pair of flashy forest green jacquard pants, sparkly blazer, glam statement earrings, and black stilettos. After spending the late afternoon adding finishing touches to our Christmas decor, our home was holiday ready for our friends to arrive, filled with the delicious scent of pine from our new Christmas wreath. It was definitely beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!

gmg-jcrew-8199

gmg-jcrew-7450
gmg-jcrew-8300

This wool blazer from J.Crew is a great piece that will last beyond just the holiday season. The tiny amount of sparkle is festive but not too much for everyday. It’s fitted perfectly but leaves just enough room for a few layers underneath- this embellished fair isle sweater & this thin white turtleneck.

gmg-jcrew-7497
gmg-jcrew-7508

We finished hanging old ornaments my mom brought over, adding childhood memories to our mostly-new tree decor.

gmg-jcrew-7442

gmg-jcrew-8250

Even though we won’t be home to celebrate actual Christmas day under our tree, the weeks leading up to the holiday are just as fun. It’s activities and moments spent with friends & family that really make this time of year so special.

Weekend Trip To Napa

Vince Coat, J.Crew Sweater, Hudson Jeans, M Gemi Booties (old, similar here and here), WLFK x Gigi New York Clutch, Illesteva Sunglasses

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend Rose and her fellow came to visit me and Thomas from London. It was one of the best weeks I’ve had in a long time. We had my family coming in from out of town for Thanksgiving and post celebrations with Thomas’s family the day after. I recently read that spending a certain amount of hours with close friends and family ups your happiness level and that’s exactly how I felt the whole time. So incredibly happy and thankful for these awesome human beings in my life and getting them all in the same place at the same time. Cheesy, I know, but it was just a really good time.

It was fun playing tour guide in San Francisco, but we couldn’t let our friends leave without a weekend trip to Napa. It’s one of our favorite places in the world, so of course we put it on the schedule. We woke up early on Saturday morning and packed the car with weekend bags, cameras and too many shoes and headed off across the Golden Gate Bridge towards wine country. Rose and I distracted ourselves with slo-mo singing snapchats while the guys wished they had headphones, but before we knew it, we were pulling up to Boon Fly Cafe for brunch. It’s one of my personal favorite spots for breakfast in Napa- make sure you don’t miss the donut holes! We ordered a round of mimosas, each ordered an egg dish and got the pancakes for the “table” before rolling back to the car.

It was already reaching the early afternoon by the time we arrived to our hotel and checked in. We were greeted with wine before roaming around the property trying to chase the afternoon sun. We started our stay at Auberge du Soleil (my first time staying there) which has an incredible vantage point overlooking Napa Valley.

We ended our afternoon with a tasting at one of my favorite wineries, Frog’s Leap, just a few minutes from Auberge. We knew it was the perfect first stop to take our friends. The grounds of the property are beautiful and the wine is amazing- a win/win combination. It’s the sort of spot where you want to post up for a few hours to relax, listen to the birds chirping, and the buzzing noise of excited wine tasters, and let the sun take you into a daze.

^I rarely meet someone with thicker hair than myself and Rose might just top mine.

The weather in Napa was ideal. While it was late in the season, the colors were still as vibrant as the beginning of fall. The vineyards were full of color ranging from deep reds to bright yellows, greens and orange. While the air was crisp, the sun added a nice glow that made it not too cold. I wore my camel Vince coat, a soft J.Crew Turtleneck and coated skinny jeans for a relaxed weekend look. Napa is pretty low-key so this sort of combination is always an easy go-to.

gmg-napa-9728

gmg-napa-9770

Napa was sure showing off its beauty for our guests! It was their first time and one of the prettiest trips we’ve ever spent there. Weekends like those are the best when shared with friends. My stomach ached from laughter- Rose is one of the funniest people I’ve ever met and Thomas always has me rolling. At least one thing we for sure were not missing from the weekend was a boat load of photos, thanks to our sweet gentlemen.

It’s been a whirlwind of a year- full of new changes, growth, love, travel and laughter. Thomas and I are so grateful for all of your love and support for Gal Meets Glam. We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday with their family, friends and loved ones. Cheers to the season & all that is to come with the new year! Thomas and I make an effort to always get at least one great photo together everywhere we travel, so we have visual memories to cherish. We couldn’t decide on just one Christmas photo, so here are a few of our favorites over the past year ranging from Greece to Napa, France to NYC, Peru to Colorado, Alaska and now Hawaii.

I hope everyone had a wonderful few days spending time with their loved ones. We had the absolute best trip with our family in Maui and wish we were still there. We’re back home and headed out to Carmel today to ring in the New Year with more family at the end of the week. It’s hard to believe 2016 is almost here, this year felt like the quickest one yet, but I’m so excited for all that the new year will bring!

New Year’s Eve is the perfect excuse to get dolled up, even if you’re just celebrating at home or don’t even make it until midnight (that was us last year). Every year we have a party with our family including dinner, champagne, games and lots of dancing. I bought this fluffy feathered Club Monaco skirt (that’s currently 40% off the sale price) to wear for holiday parties and it would also make a fun piece for a NYE look. I paired it with this silk crop top, also by Club Monaco, for a gorgeous play on textures.

I added the Temptation Drop Earrings in Champagne from my collection with BaubleBar for a tiny bit of sparkle. The Raja Bib would also make for a gorgeous statement piece to add to a simple lbd or even a t-shirt and jeans.

If you’re still looking for the perfect NYE look to wear later this week, this feather trim top, this feather dress and this feather dress, this top, this lace skirt or this jacket would all be lovely options that would promise for a chic ensemble to celebrate 2016.

Club Monaco Sweater, AG Skirt (last seen here), MICHAEL Michael Kors Boots, Silver May Ring, Lanvin Bag c/o

After our first day in Napa, we moved over to Meadowood for the second half of our stay. Since we were in weekend mode, we spent the afternoon relaxing in the sunshine before making our way over to Newton Vineyard for a little wine tasting on their gorgeous property. We arrived at golden hour, looking out over a vast spread of rolling hills covered in glowing yellow vineyards.

I put together a wine tasting packing guide in this post this past summer and although the season has changed, I still abide by many of those same rules when packing for a weekend there. I just swap out some of the more summery items for cooler weather pieces like sweaters and coats. This denim skirt (last seen in this post) is always a good option especially when I can wear them with my OTK boots for a little extra warmth.

Newton Vineyard sits atop a hill overlooking St. Helena. Not only are the panoramic views memorable, but the property itself is quite special. It has an exquisite English Garden that you can wander through before or after a tasting. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend making a reservation for a tasting.

Rose and I are the perfect wine tasting partners as she likes all the whites while I drink all the reds. A win win situation for the both of us! We got quite tipsy after this flight and ended up in a market buying enough cheese and crackers to last two weeks!

I was so glad I packed this cozy Club Monaco sweater as it was on repeat all weekend long. It’s slightly oversized, making it the perfect lounge piece but still shapely enough to be flattering. I last wore it here with black coated jeans and these leopard booties.

Patagonia Jacket, J.Crew Sweater, Joe’s Jeans, Hunter Boots, J.Crew Beanie, Ray Ban Sunglasses

Back in mid November we took a weekend trip to Tahoe with my family (you might remember from this post and this post). I had come down with a horrible cold, but I didn’t let that stop me from venturing out in the late morning for some scenic views of Emerald Bay. As much as I love fashion and dressing up, I love being outdoors in my Patagonia gear just as much. I had forgotten to share these photos, so before the year is over, I thought I would finally get them up!

I bundled up in this J.Crew fair isle sweater & beanie for the crisp Tahoe air. I layered it with my favorite nano puff Patagonia jacket that’s the best investment ever. I’ve worn that jacket every week since I got it- from early morning walks to spin class, hikes in the Marin Headlands on the weekends and trips to Alaska and Peru. It’s a great piece!

Tahoe is undoubtedly an incredibly beautiful place. With it being so near, we hardly go enough. But with this season’s snowfall, we’re hoping to make a few skiing trips this winter. My parents have gone the past few weekends making me jealous with gorgeous snowy photos!
