If you search for pictures of Quebec City, you’ll undoubtedly come across images of Petit Champlain, a popular area filled with shops, colorful buildings, some restaurants and hundreds and hundreds of tourists. We knew it would be crowded so we decided to make our way down the hill as soon as we could one morning. Our plan of avoiding the crowds mostly worked, but some of the cruise ship tours were unavoidable. Quebec City is a popular cruise port, which can fill the streets with even more people when boats are docked. Regardless, we were able to find a few quiet streets and have leisurely Saturday morning exploring around.

We settled in for breakfast at a lovely looking cafe, called Le Lapin Sauté (The Rabbit Jumps). It had rabbit decor everywhere and parisian-esque outdoor seating, so naturally I was keen to try it. We ordered the french crepes and omelet, while we sat outside in the crisp morning air. After a nice breakfast, we headed back up the hill for a walk back to the hotel. We stayed at Chateau Frontenac, which sit high above Petit Champlain which is basically the same level of the river. We stumbled across a hat store where I had a little peek inside. I found berets galore, so I bought this green one that I wore right out of the store! I found a few similar styles online (and under $50) here, here and here.

I bought this ruffle houndstooth skirt in NYC right before we left for Quebec City (fyi, it runs really big so size down- I’m wearing a 00). It’s one of my favorite pieces from J.Crew’s new fall collection and I knew it would be perfect with my green Tory Burch otk boots. I also found this houndstooth skirt from J.Crew Factory that’s on sale for under $70, along with this Mango one under $40! I love a houndstooth print right now and am crushing on this green skirt along with this black and white coat.
