I wore this look a few weeks back for an afternoon filled with meetings downtown. Most of the items in my closet are very feminine and girly, so it’s nice to have a few pieces that add a bit of an edge or toughen up an outfit. I’ve always been a fan of the military jacket and love this slightly oversized version from Banana Republic. It adds a tomboy touch that feels more “me” when paired over a delicate lace blouse. Combining the two is all about balance- a little feminine meets masculine. Another mix that I love to do to get that same effect is pair a leather jacket over a floral or chiffon dress/skirt. They end up balancing each other out perfectly.
